It's that time of year again! Recruitment week at Mississippi State is here! This time is filled with excitement and a mix of nerves. But there is no need to worry; this is the start to some of the best years of your life!
Recruitment week starts off with a meeting where you get to meet all of the girls going through rush and the Panhellenic leaders that will be with you all week. Each girl will also be assigned a Gamma Chi group that they will be with all week!
Monday and Tuesday are water party days where you visit all of the different houses and meet the girls from each sorority. On Wednesday each sorority will let you know about their philanthropy and how they support it locally and nationally. Thursday is theme night, a fun night for every girl to relax a little from the craziness of the week. Friday is the last night where you make your final decisions and Saturday is BID DAY!
You will get to meet tons of new people and make friends before classes start, which is a great way to be welcomed to Mississippi State University.
The main thing for every girl to remember during the rush experience is to not be nervous, the girls you are meeting are just as nervous to meet you as you are to meet them.
Be yourself! Find where you fit in, because that is where you will be happiest, and those girls will be your best friends throughout all of college and beyond. Meet a lot of new people and have fun!
Tips on what to wear:
Monday and Tuesday- T shirt given to you and cute shorts, find a way to stand out
Wednesday-Sun dresses with flats
Thursday-Dress with heels or wedges
Friday-Nice Sunday dress and heels, a little more serious than previous days
Saturday-T shirt and Nike shorts, you will get a new shirt during Bid Day
